For the first time at the BATIMAT RUSSIA 2020 the ESCO LIGHT company presents its partners – the LAI STUDIO architectural bureau represented by its founder and head Maurizio Lai, designing hotels, restaurants, offices, educational and cultural centers, elite residential interiors around the world. He is an extraordinary representative of modern aesthetics, whose work is determined by an instinctive approach and, of course, is reflected in his projects, in which lighting plays a fundamental role. He will conduct a lecture on March 4 at 14-00 on the topic: “Lighting Design in the hospitality sector. ”
It is no exaggeration to say that comfort in a hotel implements the main function of hospitality in the hotel business. The furniture and design decoration help to solve this problem as a whole, and lighting is no exception here. This is the basis of a good interior. Without it, the interior has no life. It gives energy to the interior and brings happiness to people inside. The modern trend: lamps from auxiliary components of the interior are turning into key ones. They come to the fore and become the main component of architectural design, and what it will be depends on the architect. Only a professional will be able to show the internal beauty of the building, which cannot be seen without proper lighting.
In his interiors, Maurizio Lai combines noble materials, designer furniture and unusual lighting solutions that function as a whole, creating an organic space. He was born in Padua, studied architecture at the Venetian and Milan Polytechnic Universities. Maurizio began his career as a stage designer and designer on television, while working on concepts for the retail of major luxury brands. Then he was invited to develop projects for large corporations in the field of tourism and hotel business. In 1998, he founded LAI STUDIO in Milan, placing an emphasis on the merger and unity of architecture and design, which became his style and leaves no one indifferent.
Maurizio’s well-known and distinctive creative style is recognized as one of the most interesting in modern Italian architecture and design. And in confirmation of the above, not so long ago, Maurizio Lai was awarded the RBDA (Restaurant & Bar Design Awards) in the Best Lighting International nomination and became a finalist of the WIN Awards 2018 in the Best Interior Practice of the Year nomination.
His works are published internationally in the most respected press on architecture and design.
