The absolute degree of love for the bright colors of life is the new Anthology Resource collection by the famous American designer Jaima Brown, whose name after over 20 years of creative work has become a synonym for ‘style’. British both by origin and by education, she knows how to convey true admiration for nature in all her works. Her designs are certainly more than just interior decoration. “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade,” optimistic Jaima says. “Add wallpaper to this and enjoy life!”
DECARO, the BATIMAT RUSSIA 2020 exhibitor, is an exclusive supplier of Jaima Brown and other elite finishing materials and decorative fabrics from leading European and American manufacturers.
The Anthology Resource collection opens with the new-look version of the print, which, perhaps, has become a hallmark of the brand worldwide. Paradisio Palm – the leaves of a banana plant this time are decorated with a characteristic flower stalk and a bunch of longan.
The print is made in different colors: classic greenery, exquisite ashen, and classic blue – the color of 2020 according to the Pantone Color Institute. The blue and white range opens the collection and, as the designer herself puts it, “symbolizes the revival of the California style in design.”
A large rapport of leaves is coordinated with a texture pattern, which resembles the Soliloquy coating of natural materials, and a print made using brush strokes, which is given the fashionable name Catwalk. Jaima recommends using these solutions nearly in any room of the house: ladies’ room, dressing room, hall, kitchen or even as a background for a bookshelf! She states: “Let’s create a real fashion catwalk from home! Who says you can’t have fun in your home space?”
The next pair includes Tribeca and Milano prints. One of the most expensive districts of Manhattan, ‘enclosed in a triangle’ of streets, looks especially chic in the gold version. “The golden highway to luxury living,” Jaima says.
In coordination – a kaleidoscopic pattern inspired by the stains of Milanese marble and the Celeste watercolor stains. Try integrating these patterns into your bathroom designs and combine the dynamics of geometric lines with tiles.
The collection continues with the Oceanna print adorning the Anthology Resource collection. Watercolor colorful fish is Jaima’s favorite pattern. The color schemes are varied – turquoise, charcoal black, white, pearl gray, blue, but the most charming is turquoise!
As a companion, the designer suggests using the Painter’s Palette print, which has a nostalgic character. The author of the collection recalls her childhood and devotes this pattern to her mother Helen Van Wyk, who was an artist and taught Jaima the basics of painting. Light brush strokes create an interior where you can breathe easily and live freely. The bold combination of navy blue and lime color refreshes any space.
This pair will look natural not only in the interiors of country houses on the coast of the sea, but also in city apartments – in children’s rooms, bathrooms or guest rooms. The right atmosphere in the interior does not depend on the climate, country or season of the year.
We are moving on, and another distinctive pattern called Audubon is next in turn. The colorful birds on the branches of a lemon tree fluttering out of their cages are the ‘436th illustration’ for the famous book ‘Birds of America’ by John James Audubon. The first edition (four volumes were published from 1827 to 1838) is recognized as a masterpiece and the greatest bibliographic rarity. ‘Birds of America’ is the most expensive printed book ever sold at auction.
The idea of creating an illustrated catalog of all species of birds living in North America came to John James Dubon in 1820. By that time, he had accumulated many drawings distinguished by drama and vitality: with the help of wire and ropes, the naturalist gave natural poses to stuffed birds that served him as models.
He is remembered as one of the most important naturalists of his era, as well as one of the progenitors of modern movements for the preservation and protection of the environment. In 1886, the first Society for the Preservation of Birds (since 1905 – the National Audubon Society) was named after him, and then the countless nature reserves, centers, institutions, parks, streets, bridges, and even the city and county in Iowa.
The collection designer pays special attention to the use of gold and silver metallic. Just so, the Allure pattern is an imitation of aged vintage tiles in noble shades of antique gold, bronze and silver pearls. Metallic always adds luxurious look and festive mood to the interior. Shining sparkles glint like champagne bubbles, inspiring and energizing.
For the collection designer, gold and silver are those ‘tools’ in the designer’s palette that can become a linchpin of the interior. Let’s consider this idea by the example of a pattern called Muse in a black color scheme. The author recommends this pattern to add a little drama to the interior. Smooth shining lines are easily combined with elements of furniture, lamps and accessories.
Three admirable panel pictures complete the collection:
- Blossom Chinoserie Mural, made in traditional sky-blue colors, emerald green and silver foil and sisal texture.
- Naples Palm Mural – a very colorful panel with a large rapport, more reminiscent of fresco painting than the design of wall coverings – with a white and blue background.
- Anthology Tree of Life – the ‘tree of life’ in the spirit of boho, without it the California-style interior is inconceivable. Spectacular black and calm azure.
The color scheme of the collection is explained by the variety of colors in the place where the designer lives. The endless beaches of Florida, the turquoise ocean and amazing nature are inexhaustible sources of inspiration.
- Bright distinctive patterns for different rooms of the same space – fancy fish and banana leaves, Milanese marble and geometry chaos, watercolors and light brush strokes... The potential of the collection is endless.
- Bold and trendy colors: a combination of blue with lime, crimson with turquoise, coral with green. At the same time, a calmer color scheme is available for each bright print.
- An abundance of motifs with metallic: gold, bronze, silver.
- All the patterns of the collection are combined as possible companions, so you can use these wall coverings in a variety of style solutions for the interior: the Californian style, light fusion, modern eclectic style, art deco, ‘glamorous’ loft, boho-chic, modern classics, etc.
- Three admirable panels can become the starting points for creating a general interior concept.
