On May 15–19, 2019, within the 24th International Exhibition of Architecture and Design Arch Moscow, which will be held in the Central Manezh (Moscow, Manezh Square, 1), the Turkish GAD Foundation, led by Gokhan Avcioglu, and SPEECH architectural bureau, chaired by Sergey Choban, will present a joint project named New Social Environment: Modern Architecture and Public Spaces in Turkey.
The 15 best socially significant Turkish architectural projects implemented over the past ten years were selected, including cultural centers, libraries, educational institutions, sports facilities, museums and open public spaces. The steady growth of Turkish cities calls for the search for innovative architectural solutions for new economic and environmental challenges.
Co-curators of the exhibition – architectural critic Gokhan Karakas and Anna Martovitskaya, Chief Editor of SPEECH magazine. The goal of the project is to demonstrate the importance of public spaces and design solutions applicable to them.
