Alternative trends in art have always attracted interest. Spirit of rebel, provocation, avoiding accepted standards become a sort of self-expression. In 1980s grunge music became popular. This bold and brutal music style is still inspiring designers all over the world. The new ceramic granite collection Grunge by Aparici includes accurate imitation of aged materials — concrete, metal, stucco.
Designers of the Grunge collection tried to reflect the sensation of freedom, individuality and distinctiveness — qualities that are especially valuable in times of industrial style and high-tech. Deliberate carelessness, roughness, oxide stains — all these elements create a manifestation of imperfection.
The collection includes floor ceramic granite, and wall ceramic tile. Colors include Blue, Grey and Oxidium (olive). The surface is partially polished using lappato technique. Porcelain clay used as a basic substance, and double sintering make the tile firm and solid. Ornamental tiles include imitation of laced metal sheets (Grunge Fizz) and modest patterns (Grunge Decor).
