The history of Russia, architectural ensembles, the decoration of the boyar chambers and the Kremlin towers as a reflection of the splendor and power of the Russian state have always enchanted and inspired interior designer Karina Avetisyan (www.s-d-i.ru) with their imaginative decor. She reconsidered this rich treasury of historical relics at her stand ‘The Boyar Chambers of the Kremlin – Modern History of Russia’ at the BATIMAT RUSSIA 2019 exhibition.
For wall decor, the designer used a photograph of the Kremlin Chambers of the Boyars (closed to the public) from the Kremlin series of classical Russian art photographer Vladimir Klavikho-Telepnev (www.clavijo.ru).
In addition, one of the walls and ceiling were decorated with spectacular VIA CONDOTTI stucco, which was provided by FERRARA DESIGN (www.ferrara-design.ru). Modern decorative plaster in the interior gives a variety of colors and texture options. Plaster imparts dynamism and style to the room.
DESSO Airmaster carpet tiles on the floor – the abrasion resistant fabric with a relatively simple abstract ornament and short fiber length. The 2.4 mm pile is easy to clean, holds the shape well, retains its color, and is an excellent insulating material (www.tarkett.ru).
The composition shown at Karina Avetisyan’s stand included only four items – three floor lamps and a sofa. The sofa by Francesco Binfare, provided by Edra, represents an element of the modern landscape that has suffered from human activity, and tells the story of our time about climate change and deglaciation, as well as the history of human feelings that reflect them: loneliness, innocence, happiness, madness and the ability to enjoy such effects as the warm sunlight on the back of a bear (www.edra.com). The red PENELOPE floor lamp from the Fisionarte factory stands in the center of the composition.
The prototype of the PN.1001 / NR + VPRB.1001 + LP.1001 TEXTIL RED floor lamp was the nymph Calypso from the island of Ogygia, where Odysseus found himself after the shipwreck and where he spent seven years. It is more than just an accessory. In fact, in the context of the functionality of modern life, it is able to decorate, furnish and define the spaces of our everyday life and at the same time stimulate the senses. The floor lamp itself is made entirely by hand using crochet techniques. Two more stylish ZIGZAG floor lamps, according to the sketch of the famous designer Jean Francois Crochet from Terzani, were set at the corners of the exposition (www.palantirsvet.ru).
Electrical equipment was provided by TESLI, the BASALTE CLASSIC collection (www.tesli.com).
