Yulia Golavskaya, together with designer Elena Zufarova, within the Integrated Solutions design exposition at BATIMAT RUSSIA 2019, designed the author's stand Camera Obscura. This philosophical living room is universal, and at the same time individual – both for silent contemplation, and for fantasies.
The immersive black color allows you to hide from the outside world, stop for a minute, look inside yourself and around, dream a little, listen to good music or watch a movie – nothing serious, a moment that you can spend alone with yourself.
This is what Yulia Golavskaya, who is among the 100 best Russian designers and architects according to the AD magazine, tells about the project: “Since creating beautiful interiors is our daily routine, we wanted to do something completely different for the exhibition and for ourselves. First, here we worked as architects and built a volume that is simple and complex at the same time. Second, for the first time in our practice we used black as the main color. Third, in the pavilion interior we have only three main textures: wood, metal, glass. Fourth, there is minimum decor (large and small vases, two black bricks).
Our room was designed as a multimedia space. Decorators usually do not like televisions and often avoid taking pictures of them in ready-made interiors, as if they were not there at all. In this case, televisions were a source of inspiration. We created a film in which the air is the main character, and the TVs have connected the real and the fantastic worlds into one. All things in the room are connected for us in one story. There are few of them, and therefore we hear every voice, as in a beautiful quintet. Two items – vintage chair and table – appeared in the project at the last moment. The main item – the bench – has lived in our room since the idea inception. As a result, we got a mix of state-of-the-art technology, hand-made and vintage items. And this approach can be considered as a concept for creating a real interior.”
The Palantir center of light provided lighting equipment for the concept of the stand designed by Yulia Golavskaya and Elena Zufarova (www.palantirsvet.ru). For general lighting, Urban universal lamps from Axo Light were used, they served as a source of soft, even light. The accents on the decor items are placed using adjustable lamps Arkos and Helestra.
Wiring accessories were provided by Schneider Electric (www.se.com). Sedna collections feature elegant design combined with extensive functionality.
LUTRON light control, FLAT LINE + S herbourn sound, ELAN control provided by A.P. Techology (www.aptech.ru). It is the oldest Russian company engaged in the development of multifunctional consumer electronics control systems (concept development, design, equipment supply, startup and commissioning), as well as the supply of specialized chairs for the Fortress Seating home theater.
Eco-friendly water-based paints, Farrow & Ball (United Kingdom), F&B 57, F&B 66, F&B 248 from Manders (www.manders.ru), were used to decorate walls and ceilings.
The massive board from the Character collection produced by Luxuryfloor Design Studio (www.luxuryfloor.ru) harmoniously blended into the interior of the philosophical living room.
