This year, Yana Svetlova, designer and founder of the Yana Svetlova Wallcoverings name brand (www.yanasvetlova.com), took part in the BATIMAT RUSSIA exhibition. She introduced the concept of a boutique hotel called COSMOS. “When entering a hotel room, the guest merges into the universe of comfort and design, created specifically for him. My task was to look beyond the event horizon and create a space of the future, combining elements of a fairy tale and cosmic futurism, state-of-the-art pieces of furniture and decor, as well as elements vaguely resembling the past,” the project designer says.
The real innovator in the world of fashionable finishing materials, Yana Svetlova notes that “trend in interior design is a very conventional concept, because creating space, we create it for many years to come. Therefore, it is very important to use sensations that are always in fashion: the feeling of comfort, the mildness of combinations, colors and textures, the depth of thought involved in an interior.”
When creating a room concept of the COSMOS hotel, the designer focused not only on beauty, but also on the absolute modernity and functionality of all the items involved in the concept: bed and stool, Grand Amati, www.grandamati.ru; hanging table, Art Vector, www.art-vektor.ru; mirror, glass screen, Papa Carlo workshop, www.papacarlo.biz; bio fireplace, Belfort Kamin, www.belfortkamin.ru. Wiring equipment and home control systems were provided by Schneider Electric, www.se.com. The Stripes carpet by Yana Svetlova from Tapis Rouge (www.tapisrouge.ru) fits harmoniously into the interior. It is made with hand-tufting technique. Different length of tufts emphasize the pattern, and the combination of natural New Zealand wool and luster makes the canvas silky and soft. The designer chose two basic colors (beige and gray) and diluted them with soft pastel shades.
Yana Svetlova always pays special attention to the walls. As part of the Integrated Solutions exposition, she presented the Supreme collection from Yana Svetlova Wallcoverings. Rare natural materials, handcraft and bright emotions are the theme lines of this new series of design coatings. “I believe that wallpapers create a special atmosphere in the interior, they are able to give emotions to space,” says Yana Svetlova. “The Supreme line of natural wallcoverings conveys the philosophy of true luxury of simple things.” The collection features unique materials: sisal, abaca, flax, cotton, silk, bamboo, cork, mica and even wood veneer, there are also wall coverings from herbs of Guatemala, Mexico, Africa and Malaysia. Each meter of such wallpaper is unique, intertwined and painted by hand. A special place is occupied by coatings with applications of mica, sisal and cork. They are also created by hand, carefully painted out and applied to varnished or metallized underlayments. A distinctive feature of natural wallpaper is a visible seam, demonstrating the originality of each roll. For commercial projects, the Supreme collection features a separate selection of materials that meet the requirements of high wear resistance and fire resistance. For designers, the Yana Svetlova Wallcoverings company offers a full customization service. The walls of the stand were partly decorated with Little Green 54N05 paint (UK) from Manders (www.manders.ru).
