A student of the ‘Interior Design. Basic Course’ Ekaterina Tkachenko won the Mood competition, previously announced by BATIMAT RUSSIA and the British Higher School of Art and Design (BHSAD), which was held among the first year students. She got the opportunity to realize her interior project at the Integrated Solutions exposition, at the largest international construction and interior exhibition BATIMAT RUSSIA 2019, along with experienced Russian designers.
This year, BHSAD students received a brief for designing a space reflecting the given topic – the Mood. The mood of the interior should reflect the spirit of the time and affect the physical and emotional state of a person with the help of color, texture of interior items and finishing materials.
Students have prepared more than 20 projects. The experts of BATIMAT RUSSIA and BHSAD selected the best one – The Perfect Journey by Ekaterina Tkachenko. She created the design of a boutique hotel room, which is divided into three zones – a recreation area, a freshness area and a relaxation area. All of them are designed in the same style, but each is unique in character and filled with carefully selected designer interior items.
A special role in The Perfect Journey project is assigned to color and graphics. The color composition is based on muted shades of deep blue-green, velvety blue-violet and invigorating orange-red in combination with contrasting black and white stripes.
For a novice designer, participation in a large exhibition with a personal stand is a unique opportunity to express yourself to the creative community and show your skills. Leading industry manufacturers of finishing materials and accessories were involved in implementing the winning project.
The projects that won the second and third places were published in the pre-exhibition issue of BATIMAT RUSSIA digest online magazine and on the exhibition website.
