The famous Italian architect and Professor of Architecture Cino Zucchi will participate in BATIMAT RUSSIA 2019 Business Program. He teaches, writes articles, runs his own architectural bureau Сino Zucchi Architetti.

At the BATIMAT RUSSIA Exhibition, Cino Zucchi will teach a master class on the topic ‘The Depth of Architectural Surfaces’ (Hall 7, the Design Talks site, March 13, 11:30).
Modern architects actively use ribbed surfaces and swan-necks, which create a certain depth. As a rule, houses built by the best architects have complex contour shape, and various levels flow one into another. Cino Zuссhi will talk about ins and outs of modern architectural structures, as well as the construction and finishing materials used today.
Cino Zucchi was born in Milan in 1955, received a Bachelor’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Cambridge, Massachusetts) in 1978, received a diploma in architecture from the Milan Polytechnic Institute in 1979, where he is currently a Professor in the Department of Architectural and Urban design. In 2013, he was a Visiting Professor at the Lectures of John T. Dunlop at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, speaking on the topic of housing and urbanization. He was also a Visiting Professor at several European and American universities.
Together with his CZA Studio, he designed and implemented many industrial, commercial, residential and public projects, common areas, general plans and renovations of industrial, agricultural and historical areas, and also participated in numerous architectural and urban design competitions at the national and international levels. His participation in international debates on architecture and urban design theory is widely recognized and initiates an intense intellectual dialogue with colleagues and critics. He regularly gives lectures and sits on the jury of many architectural competitions both in Italy and abroad.
Cino Zucchi is a member of international housing innovation research groups such as ARE_Living. He was President of the Jury of the European Union Award for Contemporary Architecture (Mies van der Rohe Award 2015). His essays and articles on architecture and urban design have been published in many specialized international journals, including Domus, Casabella, Abitare, Lotus, San Rocco, Detail, Bau, and many others.
He participated in organization and design of the exposition at the XV, XVI, XVIII, XIX and XXI Triennials in Milan, is a member of scientific committees of the XXI Triennial, MAXXI in Rome and Enciclopedia Treccani. His projects were shown at the 6th, 8th, 12th and 13th Biennials of Architecture in Venice.
