Being a meeting point for manufacturers and professional audience, Saloni WorldWide Moscow exhibition space, which received the new name – Salone del Mobile.Milano Moscow, can justly be called a territory of business cooperation and joint creativity, which is intended to emphasize the origin of the event, its close ties with Milan and deep commitment to Italy.
For architects and interior designers, this is not just an opportunity to join the extraordinary atmosphere of creative reason and energy, but a professional necessity. This is a demonstration of how teamwork within an industry, as well as its creative and productive potential, can become driving factors for excellence.
Each designer has “his own” exhibition. This is true, because everyone’s opinion, preferences and attention span are different. One person can see something that the other one won’t.
Leading architects and interior designers told BATIMAT RUSSIA why Salone del Mobile.Milano Moscow exhibition is a “must see” in the world of design, what are the trends they can point out, and what colors, materials and textures are on trend this year.

Marina Zherenko, interior designer and decorator, participant of the “Complex Solutions” exposition at BATIMAT RUSSIA 2019, founder of “Detali Schastya” design studio, expert of “Idealny Remont” and “Fazenda” programs.
«Visiting the exhibition is not a tribute to fashion, but immersion into favorite business, professional growth and a key to the future. In a few days you can witness the best examples of creativity, exceptional products and opportunities for innovation. I follow fashion in all areas, but my goals are completely different: to apprehend the direction set by the experts and try to anticipate the outlined trends. What I mean... The creation of a design project and its subsequent implementation takes a lot of time. This means that by the time the residents occupy the new interior, there are many new interesting finishes and designs of new furniture. New collections arrive to the market much faster than they can be realized. The pace of market expansion is quite high. Therefore, in simple words, it is very important for me that my proposals for finishes and furniture were not at the peak of their popularity and certainly not from outdated collections, but were at the very initial stage of development. Thus, I use only the newest in my projects. It is exciting for me to be the first, and it is exciting for my customers to feel that they were “pioneers” at the moment when others did not even understand what it is and how to use it. There is no fear of the new in me. This feature attracts many of my customers, including not very brave ones. With me they are not afraid to go forward.
Salone del Mobile.Milano / Salone del Mobile.Milano Moscow are the most important annual events for the design world that shape fashion trends for the years ahead. First of all, I would like to note the presence of glass and mirrors. Glass is not just transparent, but colored, iridescent with all colors of a rainbow. Tables, screens of unusual shapes, zoning partitions, colored mirrors and surfaces create an excellent mood with their fabulousness, the play of light and reflections. The main emphasis is made on quality and conciseness. Nothing more, just the shape and color. Another line that is clearly visible is metallic surface. This decorative coating is used extensively in kitchens. One of the fashion trends is transforming furniture, which allows to structure any space, even of a very limited size, to make it as ergonomic and comfortable as possible. In conclusion, I’d like to speak about the color. The main trend here – all shades of orange and terracotta, brown, navy blue and blue. But the pink/powder remains much less. In metal – brass stands its ground, as well as bronze and a lot of ferrous metal.»

Vincenzo Stridacchio, an Italian painter, sculptor, architect, interior designer, participant of the “Complex Solutions” exposition at BATIMAT RUSSIA 2019. Founder of Vincenzo Studio Design.
«The main world design fair, which takes place in Milan in the spring and in the fall in Moscow, shows new products, shares achievements and sets the vector for the whole year. For us, this is an opportunity to see everything live, to test it if you need. This event is not just about professional sphere, it also is a place for communication, exchanging opinions, acquiring new acquaintances with suppliers and manufacturers, “must see” in design world.
Today, the focus of attention is shifting from a single thing to a holistic interior solution aimed at designing a particular mood. This is a high-quality work on emotional climate of the interior space. At the same time, special attention is given to details and quality. Objects acquire quiet forms, without excessive decoration and pretentiousness, are adjusted according to proportions and materials. Natural stone and leather are used in finishing, as well as a large amount of metal, including table tops and facades. Non-ferrous metal is very popular. Many brands now present glass-cases with metal frames, open shelves and shelving units, giving lightness and emphasizing the scale. In most cases, facades don’t have any handles, and furniture compositions look massive and holistic.
The eco-relay that started a few years ago spawned the fashion for the most complex processing of solid wood with the help of new technologies, and today it entered a new qualitative stage of development. Keeping all the artifacts of an old log, the product is perfect in shape, interspersed with transparent resins, metal and other materials. We have to admit that today the horizons of using natural wood are endless. In color palette deep saturated natural colors are on trend: sea blue, grass green, wine red, colors of gems and earth, corroded iron and oxidized bronze. We are excited to see a new takeoff of the 70s style called “neo memphis”.»
